Skinning aluminum doors and working on non-structure quarter panel's technicians will be required to remove SPR's (Self-Piercing Rivets) as part of the repair process. SPR Extraction Tool is a high grade hardened steel frame with a ½ in.; 20 Grade 8 hex bolt with hardened tip to push out a SPR with a ¾ in.; or 19mm socket.The SPR Extraction Tool allows the technician to control these repair processes without waiting in line for the very expensive hydraulic tools to do this same process. 1.Follow manufacture procedures to remove the trim panel which exposes theSPR's that need to be removed.2.Insert the hardened tip of the hex bolt to the inside of the door, hand tighten thebolt to the center of the SPR backside, keeping the body of the SPR Extraction tool against the door flange.3.Install your ¾ in.; or 19mm socket to your ½ in.; impact wrench and engage.4.Within 3-5 seconds you will see the old SPR come out from the bottom.Install rope hem on door skin with using Al Skin Zipper (PN STE21892) and window flange with Al Skin Zipper II (PN STE21896) or other tools according to the manufacturer instructions.Labor/Material Savings:Work in conjunction with our SPR Insertion Tool, PN STE21960 and our Al Skin Zipper, PN STE21892 and AL Skin Zipper II, PN STE21896 allows the technician to build his/her resume for aluminum repair while allowing them to provide a professional repair and not add non-productive time awaiting hydraulic tools.
