This new clamp meter is the result of 3 years of development incorporating several important requirements for automotive testing.  First, the larger clamp opening of 19mm allows for clamping over larger ground cables and some of the multiple ground cable systems.  Many re-sellers and end users have requested the larger clamp size over the past 7 or 8 years, so we were able to accomplish this, while still keeping the required 1mA low resolution for battery drain testing.  Second, we improved the zero stability over existing Model 687 - another request from the field.  Other notable improvements over 687 include:  double injection housing (much higher quality housing), greater DMM functions/features like analog bargraph and min/max.  This product incorporates many requested improvements and feedback that we've received from voice of the customer.
